Selectmen Meeting Minutes
January 7th, 2008
Present: B. Pratt, M. Genest, S. Schacht, W. Prokop, J. Davidson, C. Craig, B. Cole
1. The selectmen approved the minutes of the meeting of December 17th, 2007.
2. The selectmen met with the representatives of the North Branch Cemetery Association to discuss their interest in having the Town take over the North Branch Cemetery as per the requirements of RSA 289:13. Once the association is terminated all funds remaining shall be transferred to the Town and three thousand dollars of those funds will be earmarked for a memorial garden for Amber Carter as has been previously funded and arranged. The cost for maintenance is estimated to be approximately $5,000.00 per year. After some discussion the selectmen voted to support a warrant article for the Town to assume control of the cemetery and the management of it would be the responsibility of the Cemetery Trustees.
3. The selectmen approved all of the budget adjustments that were made, after a review of our December cost for snow storms and they are satisfied with the operating expenses for all departments as now proposed. The overall increase is 1.4% over the 2007 budget and this includes 53 weekly pay periods for the year. The Warrant Articles be finalized in the next week, after the selectmen meet with the Recreation Commission and review their requested Warrant Articles.
4. The selectmen review the three properties that the Town can now deed and they voted to deed the following properties: 213-017 located at 197 Keene Road, 214-006 located at 340 Smith Road, 249-011 located off of Stoddard Road, and 232-060 located at 114 Concord Street. The selectmen are requesting the Acting Tax Collector to proceed with the deeding process.
5. The selectmen reviewed various correspondences that have been received and approved the A/P and Payroll for the week.
6. The selectmen were advised by the Town Administrator that all committees were advised to be sure that they are properly recording minutes of their meetings. The selectmen now have a master book setup for the recording of all minutes, starting with the month of January 2008.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M the next meeting will be held on January14th starting at 6:00 P.M. The Recreation Commission will be asked to present their desired warrant articles to be presented at Town Meeting.
